Flame 2011

Our HD Quad Core Flame 2011 is a high performance visual effects system, designed to empower the world's leading digital artists to work interactively on projects ranging from intensely complex visual effects in feature films, to the fast-paced sessions characteristic of broadcast television commercials. Flame 2010 works in uncompressed 4:4:4 RGB at full 4K feature film and stereoscopic 3D resolution.

Lightwave 3D

Proven for years in television, film and games, Lightwave 3D is also being used to create graphics for print, Web, industrial design, architecture, medical imaging and anywhere else a 3D package is needed. Soft-body dynamics, particles, hair and fur, unlimited render nodes, and many other effects are standard in Lightwave 3D.

Smoke & Stereoscopic 3D Edit Suite

Our Smoke 2011 is one of the industry's most advanced online editing and finishing systems. Our digital artists use Smoke's formidable array of creative tools to swiftly complete intricate project, working seamlessly with our other editing and effects suites. Smoke's is a high-end visual effects tool for interactive visual design with direct client participation in all formats including stereoscopic 3D.

Edit Suites

Avid | DS HD

Avid | DS HD is our nonlinear production system for real-time conforming and finishing of projects at multiple uncompressed HDTV and standard-definition formats. This room is used for mastering TV commercials, high-end corporate and event videos, TV programs and theatrical releases in uncompressed high-definition formats.

The creative toolset with Avid | DS HD provides our staff with full access to a complete range of integrated picture and audio editing, compositing, paint, titling, animation and media management tools at all times. Projects can be loaded from Avid Mojo or either of our Avid Media Composer suites with automatic conform of many effects, key frame settings, and even re-creation of titles. In addition, the suite can double as a 5.1 Surround Sound mixing room capable of generating everything necessary for that high-end project. The Avid|DS RP Remote Processor allows us to continue working while effects are processed in the background.

The DS HD conforms and finishes programs at multiple uncompressed HDTV formats including 24P. With support for OMF files and the ability to read Meridian-based hardware uncompressed media, TVP can efficiently conform programs created on our Avid Media Composer systems.

The DS HD suite has two added effects packages: the Sapphire package installed in Avid "A"; and Tinder, the most widely used effects by both Avid|DS and Flame. Use of these effects programs allows us even further system integration. Effects include an old film look, bad TV look, lightning generator, temporal frame distortions, grain, 3D look from 2D images, ripple, solarize, color correction, particle texture effects and much more. These effects packages also have a set of impressionist filters like charcoal, chalk, crayon, patchwork, sponge, smudge, etc.

Avid Edit - Avid Adrenaline DNA HD

A premier High Def SDI nonlinear video editing system for commercial and corporate projects provides uncompressed video images and real-time 3D effects along with Adobe AfterEffects. We have also installed Sapphire for even greater effects such as old film look, bad TV look, lightning generator, temporal frame distortions, grain, 3D look from 2D images, ripple, solarize, and many more. This also gives advanced transitions and image effects including FilmEffect to make video look like film. These effects are designed so that you can start on the Adrenaline and finish on our Avid|DS HD.

Edit 1 has 2.5 terabytes of storage (2500 gigs) to allow easy access to your materials and also is capable of real-time 9-stream hardware multi-camera editing and 10-bit effects processing. This room is capable of storing 20 hours of uncompressed video and audio.

Edit 4 - Hybrid

Edit 4 is unique in Houston: a hybrid linear and nonlinear online suite, run by Senior Editor Kenny Stainton.

In linear, direct-to-tape editing, this top end 601 digital suite features real time uncompressed digital video and effects.

On the nonlinear side, Edit 4 features Apple’s Final Cut Studio HD2.

Our four fully-outfitted High Definition edit suites feature Apple's Emmy Award-winning Final Cut Studio. An elegant and cost-effective uncompressed High Def solution, our Final Cut Studio HD suites are robust and fast.

Virtual Film Transfer

Why go to the hassle of traveling to do your transfers? TVP offers real-time, video-enabled virtual transfer sessions via Vyvx fiber circuits or satellite, allowing you to access your favorite colorist nationwide.
